Objective: Use PowerPoint to add audio to slides using the GCF Learn Free Website
Now that you have experimented with adding video elements to a PowerPoint presentation, you may want to liven it up more with sound! This assignment will assist you in learning how to add audio to your slideshow.
Topic 21, Inserting Audio
In this assignment, you will need to access the GCF website to practice adding audio elements to a slideshow. Music is one of those elements that just seems to add the “POW!” or “SHAZAM!” to a presentation and your audience just has to give you their undivided attention. Here we go!
- Read all steps listed below, then read, and view all information in the topic online.

- Watch the video in the tutorial to learn more about inserting videos in PowerPoint, or read the text of the tutorial, or both!
- At the end of reading and learning about inserting audio elements into a presentation, complete the Challenge. Keep reading below for additional helpful tips while completing the challenge.
Complete the Challenge
- Follow the online instructions for Step 1.
- After opening the practice presentation file, use File, Save As to save it as Audio_21 with your initials onto your storage device.
- When you right-click to save the “link to our example file”, save it to your storage device using its existing name. Your choice to save may be “Save link as…” When saving it to your storage device, the filename should be minden_something_small.mp3.
- Continue following the online directions for Steps 2 through 8.
- After you've completed Step 8, do complete Step 9.
- Resave your file. Submit
