Communicating with instructor and other students

Announcements

The Announcements page is used to communicate any new information that everyone in the class needs to be aware of. Select the Announcements menu button in the left pane to open the Announcements page. Announcements will also be sent to your email account unless you have modified your Canvas notifications.

Discussions

The Discussions tool is where students can communicate with each other. Comments posted are visible to everyone in the class (including the instructor).  There are 3 discussion categories:

• Introductions

Use this area to introduce yourself to other students in the class. For example, tell us about your background, why you are taking Economics, etc.

• Questions about Course Content

Use this area to post general questions about the course you might have. Other students may have the same question or may be able to offer a helpful or interesting comment. If you have a specific question for me about your grade or other issue, send an e-mail directly to me.

• Comments on Current Topics

Feel free to discuss current topics related to economics here. Examples might include: unemployment, inflation, the Federal Reserve, or economic policy.
